9:00 - 9:45 Worship (ONLINE ONLY)     |     10:00 - 12:00 Projects

What is Great Day of Service (GDOS)?

A day when South Rock Christian Church will go out in teams to be the hands and feet of Jesus to our community!  Painting, landscaping, carpentry, childcare, food preparation, prayer groups, hauling and so much more!

There will NOT be normal in-person weekend services on April 25.  All services will be an online experience.  We ask that you watch the worship service at 9:00 am if you are participating in GDOS.  You can watch with your family at home or watch as a project team if you have the means/technology to do that.  Then after service is over (around 9:45) you will head to your sites and work on your projects beginning around 10:00.  We will NOT be hosting a lunch this year so when the project is complete you are done for the day.  We encourage you to have lunch on site as a team, either bring a lunch you packed or order a pizza or some other favorite of the group for everyone to enjoy together along with the homeowner.

For GDOS 2019 we served over 75 different projects with over 950 people!  Lives were changed, relationships built, and Jesus was at the front and center of it all!

We are looking forward to GDOS - Spring Cleaning Edition!

Who do we serve?

We are looking to serve anyone who cannot otherwise do the work for themselves.  Elderly neighbors, single parents, families with a deployed parent, or anyone who may not be able to get to the project otherwise.  We also serve schools, parks, and other community spaces to help Derby and the surrounding communities.  Our general rule is the homeowners must live within 15 minutes of the church.  We don't want to spend the entire work time traveling to the site.  However, we are open to special projects at distances further away.
